Anyone looking forward to the Joker movie? we have seen some great adaptations (some not so great), my personal favourite being Mark Hamill in the Arkham games, closely followed by Leger. I'm looking forward to see how the character is portrayed in the movie, but from the trailers it looks promising.

{Ed001's Note - I was until all the reviews raved about it and that usually is not a good sign! I am liking they went down the darker route, as one thing I have noticed from the DC TV shows is that the frothy, light ones like Arrow and Flash are crap, while the darker ones, such as Titans, Doom Patrol and Pennyworth are good shows. It has a really high bar with the Dark Knight trilogy to aim at, just hope it doesn't undershoot by as much as Suicide Squad did.}

Suicide squad & justice league struggled because they had a lot of character development to do in a short time whilst also trying to develop the plot. it's the reason why Avengers works is because all the character work is done prior.
I'll be honest other then batman (and associated characters) I don't really care for DC, although I did watch Aquaman and think it's the best one they've done (Only counting movies from their shared universe attempts). If this movie came before JL it would of immediately made it better. Unfortunately DC were playing catch up and decided to rush the whole thing.
I agree though, darker is the way forward for DC it makes them different from marvel that way. And with them now being part of the house of mouse, I think any chance of marvel creating dark movies is remote.

{Ed001's Note - JL and SS didn't work because they were crap, crap stories and crap characters. They didn't develop them, they just threw them in together and hoped it would work.}

I am really looking forward for it too. I really like how it looks in the trailers.

I read it somewhere it is meant to be a standalone film though. Does it mean they won't connect it with the Batman character? That part really is a big question mark for me.

I'll admit I'm more of a marvel fan. I grew up with iron man, Spiderman and the x-men and fantastic four. Both the comics and cartoons, especially the cartoons. There wasn't much DC fare in the 80s, only the campy 60s batman series and the awful superman films. I was never a fan of superman it was too American. Then came Batman 89.

I've not seen many of the new DC films as they do look mostly terrible based on the trailers.

I've really been enjoying titans think things are progressing too quick could have made trigon a bit longer gave a bit more detail to him

in hero films it's not the hero that makes a good film it's the villain and that is where dc are failing I think they have some really amazing villains the joker has always been my favourite

The joker film looks good and I've read contrasts in opinion some rave reviews and some saying biggest flop of 2019

I went to see this over the weekend. I reckon it's one of the best films I've seen, period.

It was dark for sure, I didn't feel like a two hour movie it flew by. When he gets his suit on and the Gary Glitter tune comes on it really comes to life. Controversial but oh so good !!!

cant wait to watch it again.
