Just watched the new IT, I'll keep it short. Not even as good as the old ones imo. And they weren't spectacular.

{Ed018's Note - I just watched it yesterday as well and I liked it but it wasn’t as good as I was hoping. The movie felt rushed to me and needed to find a way to develop the characters and their friendship better and slowly introduce Pennywise as what was after them.}

Yeah, defo rushed. I was looking forward to seeing the characters grown up aswell, so hopefully they make a second one based on that and they sort it out. I didn't like the fact that the kids was beating pennywise up. Took the horror out of it for me. Add to the fact he got them on there own individually, but never dmanaged to do anything to them, he should have just terrorized them from a distance. Building up to the final part.

The other thing that spoilt it for me was the ott use of cgi on pennywise,there was just no need for it and made him more funny than frightening. I also wanted more dialogue from pennywise,the sewer scene with georgie was really menacing but apart from that we didn't get that side of him again,just a few words here and there. I personally liked the finale and i loved the casting for the losers club but like you say their character development seemed very rushed. I did enjoy the film but because my expectations were so high i felt a bit underwhelmed by it.

I think there are two main things that caused the divided opinions about this film, expectations and comparisons.

I agreed there were a number of flaws like you guys mentioned here, but I still feel that this is a very good film. The kids were awesome and innocently funny. Some of the scenes were quite scary. And yes wiggy, that sewer scene, truly menacing.

Oh ya. That scene when the girl pushed the door revealling the NKOTB poster really made me laugh.
